Well, here I am again!
I know you guys are probably wondering where I went so let’s do a recap. After experiencing the UK, specifically Manchester, for two weeks I learned so much about how the country works and how they operate. I found the whole experience fascinating all at once. I learned about my partner and even myself at times. This journey has been amazing, and I am so thankful that I get to experience it.
From falling in the with the history, the landscape, the traveling opportunities, and the weather it would be a miracle if I ever came back to the US. One of the many things that I am learning to fall in love with is the rain. I know it sounds so weird but at times it was nice to just have a drizzly day and be content with the weather. It was like a scene out of a movie when they realized they could go and play in the rain even though it was raining. Regarding the environment, I found the countryside truly amazing and peaceful as you really don’t have that in FL, unless you go out into the middle of the state no offense, from the winding roads to the wildflowers in the fields, and the cool weather it truly has surprised me how nice it is to get away from the noise of cars and trucks in the city. I mean we are talking about something so quiet and peaceful it takes your breath away every time. It was a scenery like no other I have experienced in my life. I think the amazing thing is the homes and small towns that lie on the outside of the big cities. It has so much to offer, there are so many local shops and restaurants it really is beautiful. I think it’s the fact that they care about what they have, and they embrace it so beautifully. The best way to sum this up is that the UK takes such good care of its environment and country that it comes together amazingly, and I am thoroughly impressed with it.
I think another amazing aspect I learned about was how well they preserve history, from the tiniest trinket to a huge building. I mean in the US we don’t do that often (at least in my opinion). There are so many laws about the things you can’t and can do when it comes to renovating homes that have been there, it truly is nice to know that we have a chance at seeing what happened in that era of time. There is so much history that dates back to AD, it is fascinating. Some of this is because America was not found until the 1400’s ish. We have history in the US don’t get me wrong, but it did not start until 1776 which was when USA was born officially. British history in general dates so far back it can be so much to take in. I truly am so excited you learn about the country and the history it has.
Through this, I am truly taking every moment as I know I have an amazing opportunity. I am learning to be content with everything I do and show kindness when I can. Well as I have said before if you have anything you want to hear about tell me as I am all ears. I am so excited for this adventure! Should I start uploading pictures?
Yours Truly,
Sarah Auburn
