I am back at it again!
It’s been a week since I did my first post, have you guys missed me? I am finally in the UK and the weather here is gorgeous.
During my time here, I have helped my boyfriend move into his house that he just bought, and I am so proud of him for this big accomplishment. One thought that has been going through my mind is “What makes a house a home?”. It sounds weird how I say it, but I have been wondering what that means. I don’t know if this is the answer, but it is the answer that comes to my mind. A home isn’t a place, what it’s made of, or what is inside of it. For me, it is the people you are with that are home. Your partner/spouse, friends, and even pets are what make a house a home. The question itself is tough because when you make a big change, like buying a house, you think about your finances and if it was the right decision. A lot is put into that social circle that creates not only stress for both people but also the people around them. It’s been one of the biggest learning curves in my relationship with him and I truly believe it has made us stronger as a couple. It also has allowed me to become a better communicator with him. Buying a house is not only a big stressor in a person’s life but it can also be a big accomplishment in one’s life in many ways. It allows for independence, shows who you are, and a place to call home. Home can mean so many things to many people, for me it is the person I am with. I hope this helps anyone with buying a house or is in the process of doing it with your family or loved one. Just know It can be stressful, but the end process is going to be worth the wait.
Being In the UK has opened my eyes so much and I truly am so grateful for this opportunity. If you have anything you are interested in reading about, let me know as I am all ears!
Yours Truly,
Sarah Auburn
Great question about a house vs. a home….I think I’d tend to agree.
